What is the latest research on e-cigarettes or vaping?
E-cigarettes have seen growth in the past few years. Companies dealing with their products have developed new and better products and marketing efforts.
Researchers have increased their efforts to determine how e-cigarettes affect health and how marketing these products impact teenagers who use them. The recent findings show that the newer vaping systems have high levels of nicotine as well as other chemicals that might be harmful to the human body.
Recent research on e-cigarettes put it clear that there are no clear or well-known health effects. However, there have been reports of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, gum and mouth irritation, signs believed to result from the effects of nicotine. There have also been reports of respiratory illness linked to vaping throughout the US.
There are higher chances that teenagers who indulge in vaping are likely to graduate to smoking combusted tobacco, so the recent reports say.
Researchers have however put it on a clear note that it will take a little while to do more study and determine more concerning the e-cigarettes.

What is the future of e-cigarettes in Australia?
Australian governments are taking a precautionary approach to e-cigarettes. It’s illegal in Australia to sell e-cigarettes that contain nicotine.
For many decades now, Australia has successfully controlled the use of tobacco and this has greatly helped control smoking especially among young Australians. It is however believed that e-cigarettes expose a new generation of young Australians to unacceptable risk to their health currently and in the future. This, therefore, explains the tight measures the governments have put forth to avoid such harm from happening.
Most e-cigarettes marketed globally contain nicotine, a very addictive substance. The commercial supply of nicotine is prohibited in Australia under state and territory poisons legislation. There are however e-cigarettes that are nicotine-free and are meant to help people stop smoking. In Australia, you can’t sell products that claim to help people quit smoking without the approval of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). TGA has not approved any e-cigarettes for sale to help people quit smoking.
It is therefore prudent to say that unless the research is done to prove that e-cigarettes have no harm on human lives, the future of e-cigarettes in Australia is not clear.
